I have lived in this city for so many years but if there one thing that I still have'nt gotten used to till nowDelhi Traffic... It seems to be getting worse everyday with all the increasing numbers of cars on the roads and all this Metro and flyover construction goin on...Thank God the BRT construction was stopped. That made life helll.
For my work I have to travel evryday from north west Delhi to south... and its quite a pain. Yesterday I left a little late for work. To avoid a certain traffic route I took another short cut route that I had not tried eralier. I coverd the distance really fast, and was ecstatic at my clever thinking and the classy guesswork. This particular route takes me about half an hour to cover which I very nicely coverd in half the time, 15 minutes flat and I there I stood just 10 minutes away from my office. But before I could celebrate my victory , I saw this road leading me closer to my office, so choc a vloc not funny... and I was like wat the hellllllll.
I took another diversion, and tried checking some other route, so where I had to go straight, I took a right... which turned out to be a realllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllyyyyyy long road but with less traffic... and here I was again.Yehhhh, I beat it and did a lil sitting jiggy....and I kept on driving just happy that atleast I m moving and moving fast, till I hit a road and stopped at the red light.
By this time I had seen the time and saw that I was already 15 minutes past the time I m supposed to reach office. Told myself dont panic panic, just do neck exercises and relax. So I looked right and left, right and left, right and wat is this???? saw this familiar building and was unsure of where I was and wat is this... YELLOW LIGHT, GREEN LIGHT.... and then Vrooooooooommm... till the time evrything started to look familiar on the road, wen then I realised I have taken a complete round somehow and stand at the same point where I had sterted from... and I was like NO NO NO NO NO.... this cant be happening to me. I was again standing at the same point where I had taken my first diversion from, to face the traffic at the same route. So I wasted all this time doing a whole round thinking I was tricking the Traffic and would smartly reach early while all this while the Traffic was tricking me making me take up some god for saken weird routes which looked like straight wen I started travelling but somehow I have no clue turned out to be a round. I reached office a complete hour late....where had I not acted smarter than the traffic I would have been there only 15 minutes late.
Moral of the story -
A) I M A FOOL
B) NEXT TIME U LATE FOR OFFICE, DONT TRY ANY SHORTCUTS
C) IF U SEE A TRAFFIC JAM AT A DISTANCE DONT TAKE A DIVERSION,
GO STRAIGHT AHEAD AND SMILINGLY BE A PROUD PART OF IT
(BELIEVE IN THE QUOTE IF U CANT LICK EM, JOIN EM)
and thats wat I m goana do and stick with it happily, and face it thinking of the evn more tough times ahead.... NANO hit the roads......... Bawwaaaaahhhhhhhhhh
