THE LITTLE ANGEL
Whenever I used to cross the park I used to see this little girl was sitting in a park. Barefoot, dirty with messy hair, but this girl just sat and watched the people go by. She never tried to speak nor ever uttered a word. Many people passed but never did single person stopped by.
Just so happened next day I decided to go back to the park, I was very curious if the girl would be there. Right there at the very same spot as she was yesterday she sat perched on high, with the saddest look in her eyes. I stood there for a second and then without giving a second thought today I have to make my own move. So I walked over to the little girl. Wondering what she does in this type of park as we all know a park is full of strange people and is not a place for young children to play.
As I begin walking towards her I could see the back of this little girl’s dress back showed some deformity. Then I figured out that this was the reason why people just passed by and made no effort to help her. I got closer; the little girl slightly lowered her eyes to avoid my intent stare. I could see the shape her back very clearly. It was grotesquelyshaped in a humped over form.
HELLO! I smiled to let her know it was OK I was here to help, to talk to her .The little girl was stammers with sigh she said Hi!... after long stare into my eyes. I smiled and she shyly smiled back too. We talked until darkness fell and the park was completely empty. Everyone was gone and we were left alone. Again I asked her why she was so sad. The little girl looked at me and with a sad face said because I am DIFFERENT. I immediately said that you are! and smiled. The girl acted even sadder, she said I know … I said, you remind me of an angel….with wide eyes she jumped up on her feet OOH REALLY? Yes, dear you are like a little guardian angel sent to watch over all those people walking by.She nodded her head “yes” with beautiful smile and twinkle in her eyes she spreads her wings .I was speechless and astonished, surely I thought I was seeing things…She said, since you thought other than yourself, my job is done.
Immediately I stood up said, wait, so why did no one stop to help an angel? She looked at me and smiled,” You are the only one who could see me, and believe it in your heart”. And with that my life was changed dramatically.
So, dear friends when you think you are all you have, remember, there is an angel always watching over you.
