One word which is getting maximum coverage on Internet today is "Social Media". Everybody is talking about it. Everybody is trying to do something on this. But, did you ever think as what is social media? Is it a new fad on internet? Or, it's an internet meme?
Well, I see it as a new way of communication. We have seen communication in various forms. Pictorial, verbal, written and visual are few of them. In last decade we saw lots of innovation on internet with regards to communication. We had IRC chat, Yahoo chat, G-Talk, Orkut, MSN etc. Next came the wave of social networking. Websites like Fi5, Friendster, MySapce, Orkut were champions in that category. Now, it’s time to see another way of communication. Facebook, Twitter are king now. They have started a new phase of group communication and social integration. We are witnessing an age where the basic way of communication is changing. It’s not just social networking, or internet marketing. It’s not applicable to only web savvy people. But, it’s impacting each and everybody, from a student to a CEO.
Let’s not lag behind . Let’s embrace this change.
