By: ganeshb | Posted Oct 03, 2014 | General | 263 Views

Once there was this great King who had a very big empire. Though he was a brave warrior too, he lost one eye and one leg in a war with the neighboring kingdom.

The King had a great liking for entertainment. His court was filled with musicians, dancers, singers and even artists. Once, he threw a challenge to his artists to make a beautiful portrait of him. The artists were given one week’s time to complete his portrait. This put the artists in a spot of bother. They were wondering how to make a beautiful portrait of their King who didn’t have one eye and one leg. They didn’t want to embarrass the king and at the same time they didn’t want to look like they were incapable.

Eventually one of them agreed to the challenge of making the portrait. In less than four days, the artist presented the portrait to the king. The King was very impressed with what he saw and offered gold coins to the artist as a gesture of appreciation.

It was truly a great portrait and surprised everyone.

He painted the King aiming with one eye closed, targeting his hunt with one leg bent mounted on a horse. This picture depicted the King as someone brave and full of vigor.

MORAL: If one thinks sincerely, it is possible to hide the weakness and highlight the strengths. We all have weakness, but we need to know how to use our strengths to the best advantage.
