SRK's palace is decorated with a countless number of awards he has won over the years. I can recall that there was a streak in his career when it felt like best actor award was crafted for him every single year. Despite all those awards, there is one honour which has deluded him - The national award.
However, if you by chance happen to ask any SRK fan( including me) they would vouch for the fact that he has given a number of powerful performances like Chak de! India,'Swades' and'My name is khan'(From the epiglottis) for which he deserved to be bestowed with the honour.
But The man himself has a different opinion and it's not only blatantly honest but humble to the core.
In an interview with the Indian express, he said "I come from a place where audience and jury and filmmakers have been very kind due to which I won lots of awards. For me, to sit back and say I could have won for that film would be demeaning any award. If I didn’t get it, I didn’t deserve it. It’s as simple as that. So I don’t think there is any performance of mine till date which could have or should have got National Award. I don’t perform according to winning an award. I just hope something turns out well. The one I will get it for Inshallah if I keep working hard, it will be the one I deserve! If I haven’t got the award, I don’t think I deserved it."
I think his words have made me fall in love with him all over gain
