Pleasure walk called Sair

By: r_kantsharma | Posted Jun 17, 2010 | General | 590 Views

Hi Readers,

Many more years back there was a concept sair means pleasure walk any where on footpath, under the shadow of green trees, either in evening or night. Now I watch many people do brisk walk with strained face, tired due to speed, perspiring, specially in parks, roadside footpath in the name of good health. They forget sair means walking with your friend, wife or relatives in easy mood, chit chatting, laughing on cool conversation. Suppose a person who is dibetic-2 or 1with CAD and doctor advices him for brisk walking "

I have seen many couples walking roadside hand with hand in romantic mood, chatting in pleasure in market footpath, easygoing roadside face with of pleasure.Bilfefikar(Worryless) after dinner or early morning. Now in the evening if you go in the market, you will find people running fast to reach to their destination on footpath. It appears all are in big hurry. Many years back there were crowdless markets but not Mall culture has changed. Now people and children not walk on road but simply climb on escalaters, shopping, bargaining, shopping, eating in coffee shop of malls. I do remember Central Coffee House in Cannaught Place, New Delhi and Indian Coffee House in Hazrat Ganj crossing, where number of dignitaries in art, writers, muisicians, politicians were passing their time, involved in discussions. We used to visit in Lucknow Coffee House, in our youth time just to see those great people in process and seen them as authority in their respective fields. Shri Nagar ji, C.B.Gupta ji, and endless list of real pleasing personalities. We were not much interested in coffee or Masala Dosa but more in listening their discussions.

It is true that time passes and culture too but we oldies in 60-70s still remember the evenings of Hazrat Ganj where couples and lovers were roaming on roads,s pecially in Love Lane.Even I used to do pleasure walk from Chchangamal Chauraha to Tulsi Theatre, stopping in Mayfair Cinema, where famous Hollywood movies were shown and we used to see high class Ladies and Gentglemen. Eating and sipping Cold Coffee,Quality Ice Creams and when the bell rang, leave all, rush to Mayfair cinemall enterance gate. Nearby was Basant cinema, where I first seen Padosan in Matinee show. My first Hollywood movie was "Glass Bottom Bot". Once incident I would never forget, when I bucked my college and gone to Capitol Cinema to see Raja Saheb Bollywood movie. My elder brother came to know and when I returned home, he asked where I was. I honestly answered in Capitol cinema to watch Raja Saheb. He ordered me to hands down on table and broke my back with his boxer hits. But I never reformed myself. Later I got married Neeta and usually we in the night visited to Gupta Cold Coffee Cafe shop to sip juices, ice creams, cold drinks, hot coffee. Our golden period at the age of 26 years onwards.

My purpose of writing my diary was to feel at rest and enjoy your life.
