Well, finally a film with Indian connection has got so many nominations in Oscar and probably, this one might just make it also.
However, among all media hyped euphoria, will even hard core Indian movie enthusiasts will be as happy on getting an oscar for this film as they would have when rang de basanti, or lagaan or taare jameen par had got an Oscar?
May be this is one movie that is appreciated by West, or it's because it's made by a director and production house with right connections. But if any indian movie buff is asked to name any one movie, will he/she name slumdog as the one. Might be too early to comment since it has just released.
Also, the music is great and AR Rahman desrevedly got a nomination. However, would anyone in India rate this movie music better than his numerous previous greats like roja, lagaan, bombay etc etc.
Let's all leave this oscar business for the west since they can't appreciate a rang de or lagaan as much as we do. They aren't vying for our filmfare awards, right?
