Hi,
I recently upgraded my graphic card from XFX Nvidia GT9400 to ASUS Nvidia Geforce GTX 550 Ti Direct CU, 1 GB DDR5 card. This is a mid-range card but a good performer. After I installed everything according to instructions I faced a peculiar problem. All my games which played well with the old card statred hanging or freezing in between gameplay. I seacrhed the net and tried all solutions, but no improvement. Finally I got the right solutions on Geforce forum.
All you need to do is uninstall the Game OSD software and any other utilities provided in the CDyou got with the card. Download latest drivers from Geforce site which is 285.79 beta. Other lower drivers have bug in it. You could use ASUS smart doctor or MSI afterburner software to monitor your graphic card temperatures. You could set it in auto mode.

Of course you should have a good SMPS like corsair or cooler master with 500W or above power.
My config are as follows: ASUS P57N73-AM motherboard, Intel core 2 quad processor, 4 GB DDR2 RAM, 500GB HDD + 2TB HDD, 2 DVD/RW, Corsair HX650W SMPS and Mercury ATX cabinet with single cabinet fan. My APC 500va UPS supports all these along with creative 2.1 speakers, modem and LG 22 inch full HD monitor. I work with windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
