Nissan has unveiled their brand new X-trail SUV at the ongoing 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The car which was teased earlier by the company as an unnamed model is indeed the new X-Trail.

The new car now looks much more handsome and upmarket thanks to its new styling. The outdated boxy styling of the older generation is out and new curvacious metal body is in. High end version of the car will also be donning new LED head lamp unit with daytime running lights to add to the premium feel

The interiors are styled elegantly with proper use of leather, chrome and piano black finish material. The car can accommodate up to 7 people with the optional third row seating. The third can also go down to increase the boot space of the car. Whereas, the second row passengers can now enjoy extra legroom thanks to the new extended wheelbase chassis. The second row can also fold and slide to increase the boot space even further.

X-Trail is the first model to benefit from the latest generation Nissan Connect in-car navigation, information and entertainment system. This new system helps the owners to connect their smartphone and access a projected range of apps covering music, social networking, entertainment and travel through a large, 7-inch color touch screen.

The new X-Trail adopts Nissan’s advanced electronic four-wheel drive system, ALL MODE 4x4i. Controlled via a rotary switch on the centre console, it offers a choice between two-wheel drive, Auto mode or Lock offering permanent four-wheel drive. The car also benefits from Uphill Start Support and Advance Hill Descent Control.

Nothing much is known about the drivetrain options of the car, except that they will be class leader in terms of engine efficiency thanks to downsizing, aerodynamic styling and weight reduction of the car.

Stay tuned to ICB for more news and updates from the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
