This popular non-stick Griddle is essentially concave in shape and is crafted out of thick gauge aluminum. Its long & ergonomically designed handle gives a firm grip & ease of lifting. Metal spoon can be freely used on these Griddles.
I bought this Tawa from one of the Big Bazaar outlets in Delhi.
Within hours of first use, the Tawa started emitting smoke from its joint between Tawa and Handle Base.
On second day of its use, the Handle started shaking vigorously, the screw holding the Handle became loose and it became very dangerous to hold the Tawa by its Handle. By looking at the Handle, there was no way left to tighten the screw as it would have broken the Handle into pieces.
As you may have guessed, within a few days the Handle came off, the area which emitted smoke, showed cracked and burnt bits of Handle, there was no way left to tighten the screw.
So why didn't I replace it: Because Handles are not covered in Guarantee.
Next Step: I tried to buy a new Handle from Nirlep. There's no such option available, you need to buy Handle locally. It was really hard to find a Handle which fitted this Tawa. You all know how local made Handles look like.
But this was not enough. The Non-Stick coating started coming off the Tawa after some days. The Tawa became uneven by each passing day. So again I saw Guarantee Card, there were some stupid conditions such as " The guarantee is not valid in case of Burning of coating due to dry heating, Scratched non-stick surface due to usage of sharp metallic implements like knife etc. ". Both these conditions are arguable.
This is everyday use material. One cannot waste time arguing about its quality to get it repaired / replaced.
We don't use this product extensively as we have a small family, yet it didn't work out.
This is not a cheap product available in market.
I am sure, in a few days of its use it will look like an Aluminium Tawa rather than Non-Stick Tawa.
I strongly recommed NOT to buy this product in any case.
