Hello Friends,
As posted earlier I bought my car on 15th October,09.....But somehow while returning from office @ approx 8:30 pm,a cyclist came in the way from wrong side,and inorder to save him my car got into a ditch from the left side....the car could not move to or fro in the ditch.....So with the help of some people we lifted the car and removed it from the ditch.....there was some sort of liquid coming out which which the people said that it's the coolant..Also the left tyre got punctured and the rim was bend...i replaced the punctured car with the spare wheel.
I called up the Hyundai 24 hours service,and they told me that they will charge Rs.250 to carry the car to the showroom which is just 4 km from my place..
Now here are my grievances...
1.) I was told that I would be given 24 hours free breakdown service..but they were asking for the money.
2.) I thought that it is only the coolant pipe that got damaged, but to my horror when the workshop guys saw it then the fibre covering/supporting the engine got broken, the radiator got damaged, some motor and fan got damaged, and coolant pipe got damaged.
And also the clip of the front bumper came from one side and has some scratches...the workshop guy told me that this will cost around Rs.16,000/-
He told me to replace the front bumper with a black one and get it painted which will look alike....And also the tyre's rim to be replaced.
This is my first car so I don't know what to do..he told me to take the insurance claim....
I am not able to understand that it was although a small ditch how can a car can be damaged so much..and what would happen if it was big impact.......i am really worried about my sweet baby....
Should I take the insurance..bos some say that it will effect my insurance bill for the next year.what benefits will I will be getting if I don't take the insurance.
These are approximate costs that he mentioned me:-
1.) Fibre supporting the engine :- 6 K
2.) Coolant Pipe :- 1 K
3.) Radiator :- 4 K
4.) Motor:- 3 K
5.) Fan:- 1 K
6.) Front black bumper:- 1 K
Are these costs right..if I take the insurance claim how much I will have to shell out from my pocket ..am I getting cheated anyway...please let me know ..and also should I get that bumper repaired or get it replaced with a black one and get it body colored painted.
Also what about the tyre and it rim...
Please suggest me I am really very tensed.....
