India become free from british rules and got freedom on 15th August, 1947. So we celebrate every year this day as our independence Day. This day is a golden day in indian history because we became free after a great struggle. It is a national festival and its time for celebration a national holiday. Our first prime minister was Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. He hoisted the indian flag on the Red fort in Delhi. Main function Held at the Red Fort in Delhi. Every year on 15th August the prime minister hoists the national flag on the Red fort in Delhi. Then we all sing the national Anthem. National flag is also hoisted in all offices, school and other places on this day. We remember all those freedom fighters who sacrificed their life for the freedom of our country..............!
