contd: https://mouthshut.com/diary/dhegnqpmp/A-flashbackPart-1Mouthshut-and-MeI am sure everyone enjoys recollecting the golden memory of their wedding day (Singles please excuse!). MSians who have visited my photo album, will see in 95% of the pictures (295 pictures so far) my wife and me are together always. But you will be wondering who chose whom...is it she or me!? To know how much we love each other, you can read my DP https://mouthshut.com/diary/hcigulrmo/Happy-Birthday-my-dearest-Saro-my-wife-on-your-62nd-birthday-today-27th-Julyand https://mouthshut.com/diary/bidipqmso/TodayNovember-5thour-36th-Wedding-Anniversary-Thank-you-Lord-for-loving-us Before telling you how we got married, it needs some introduction!I all through my school days I was in co-education (Boys and girls together, which is now common). We never even teased any girl during our days and the schools maintain good discipline though I studied in Government School (from 6th Form to SSLC). No boy is allowed to talk or even look at a girl when we are inside the School campus. When we move from one class room to another class room, girls and boys go in 'Q' minimum 15 ft apart!Ok..in 1973, when I was an Assistant Engineer in a Sugar Factory ( I have to write a separate DP about how I got my first job), The Sugar Technologists' Association of India (Indian Government) selected 16 delegates from all over India to represent India and were sent to Mauritius and I was one among them! I was 28+ and all others are 50+! Wow...I didn't even have Passport..again I have to write how I got my first passport without visiting a Passport office....I need to write another DP about it! I just Got my passport before boarding my Flight at Mumbai to fly out to Port Luis (Capital of Mauritius)Before boarding my flight at Madras, (I was limping as I got sprained while playing Kabadi I our factory!), I visited my sister's house at Madras. I saw one old gentleman waiting to see me. He was dark short with a hat (the hat that British men used to wear in 1950's!). My sister told me that he had come to see me as he is looking for suitable Bridegroom for his youngest daughter. They were living in Colombo, Srilanka (basically they were Indians settled in Srilanka). The girl did her schooling in Colombo and BA. (English at WCC, Madras) She was frequent flyer those days shuttling between Colombo and Madras every 3 months and whenever the college closes for more than 5 to 6 days! I saw her Photo, and I thought that she would never like me. So I told my sister to decide and headed to Airport. When I returned my sister told me that the girl and her parents like me and asked whether I am agreeing. I was really shocked how such a beautiful girl can like me, that too without seeing me. My sister said her brothers are in USA and they like to have the Engagement and wedding at Madras, but I felt shy to ask my sister, 'how could I see the girl and talk to her!' Anyway our engagement was fixed for 29th Sept.'1973 and wedding on 5th November, 1973!She and her relatives landed Madras
