PLAYERS: Abbas-Mustan’s last venture Race was one of the finest suspense dramas of Bollywood. Hence, a lot is expected from Players, the OFFICIALremake of The Italian Job. Starring Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Sonam Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Omi Vaidya and Sikander Kher, the film sadly has failed to create enough buzz thanks to average music score and lack of superstars in the cast. However, being an Abbas-Mustan film, I am hopeful the film would work!
AGENT VINOD: Sriram Raghavan gave us a thrilling time with Johnny Gaddaar. Now he’s back with the big budget Agent Vinod, starring Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. The film has been shot in exotic locations like Morocco and will have Saif-Kareena indulging in high octance action sequences! Given Raghavan’s track record, having skyhigh expectations from Agent Vinod won’t be wrong!
PETER GAYA KAAM SE: A film ready since a long time, it stars Rajeev Khandelwal and newcomer Lekha Washington. I am one of the lucky few to have seen its exclusive trailer and it seems like a riveting thriller and neat small film, something that UTV banner is known for. I sincerely hope this film gets a release as soon as possible!
EK MAIN AUR EKK TU: Promos indicate that this Imran-Kareena starrer would be fresh and immensely entertaining! Debutant director Shakun Batra seems to have hit a bullseye with this one! Releases on Feb 10.
TEZZ: Directed by Priyadarshan, Tezz has an ensemble cast comprising of Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Mohanlal, Kangna Ranaut, Sameera Reddy, Zayed Khan and Boman Irani. With Priyan helming the director’s cap, one can easily expect a high-octane action thriller. What goes against the film is reports that the film is an OFFICIAL remake of Japanese film Bullet Train which in turn inspired Speed. Hence, the film might suffer from criticisms of being lifted and copied.
HOUSEFULL 2: You might laugh on me but I loved Housefull! Hence, I am keenly awaiting its sequel which is easily one of the biggest multi-starrers ever as it stars 12-13 stars – Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, John Abraham, Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty, Shreyas Talpade, Chunky Pandey, Asin, Jacqueline Fernandez, Zarine Khan, Shazahn Padamseeand Malaika Arora Khan. Whew! How so many actors have been incorporated in 1 script and how director Sajid Khan has done justice to them is something about which I am really curious! Hope the film entertains twice as the first part! Releasing on Apr 5!
TALAASH: This marks Aamir’s first film in leading role after the hugely successful 3 Idiots. Also starring Rani Mukherji and Kareena Kapoor, the film is directed by Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd director Reema Kagti and produced by Farhan Akhtar. From ‘on the sets’ stills, Talaash seems to be a thriller and Aamir is expected to play a cop. With such an interesting cast and crew, Talaash will be most awaited not only for me but lots of moviegoers!
EK THA TIGER: After dozens of lost chances, Salmanfinally signs a Yash Raj Film. Directed by Kabir Khan whose previous films Kabul Express and New York were damn impressive, the film also marks the reunion of Sallu with Katrina Kaif onscreen. Shot in exotic locations like Turkey, Ireland and even Iraq, it will be very interesting to see how Kabir does justice to Salman’s larger-than-life image with his realistic style of filmmaking!
DANGEROUS ISHQ: Vikram Bhatt’s previous outing Haunted – 3Dwas the surprise of 2011! Hence, a lot is expected from his next 3D venture, Dangerous Ishq. This is also a comeback vehicle of Karisma Kapoor increasing the significance of the film. Rajneesh Duggalof 1920 fame has been cast opposite Karisma. The premise of the film is interesting - her fiancé is kidnapped by an enemy who has been chasing her through many lifetimes and she must find out about her previous lives! Impressive! Also starring Jimmy Shergill, Ruslaan Mumtaz and Divya Dutta!
