My Childhood Memories!

My brother had come to visit me here at Bangalore and we had a good time recalling our childhood memories. I thought of sharing some of them. I would like to share one hilarious true incident. I was about 12 yrs old and my brother was 10. We had a fancy dress competition in our colony and we were all supposed to participate. But there was very little time for preparing ourselves. We had an imported doctor’s toy play kit so thought that my brother could enact as a doctor. Mum had also long back got a nice suit for him. We also gave a name to the doctor, Dr. Daate. Everything was ready, his outfit, props etc. Finally on that day when my bro’s name was announced he came on the stage. He looked smarty in his suit along with a little tie and the doctor’s bag in one of his hands. Being his elder sis, I initiated the clap when he appeared on the stage to motivate him and the others joined. My bro then introduced him saying, “Hello friends! I am Dr. Daate……..……. But then he went blank. I was stunned for a moment. He looked at me helplessly and I felt a pang of guilt. You know why, coz in all the excitement I had forgotten to give him his further dialogues…… Jesus! But I took a grip on myself and smiled and started clapping loudly for him again. On walking down the stage our little Dr. Daate turned into an angry little Dr. Daate. But he was sooo cute. Actually at that time I didn’t know how to react, whether what happened was funny or sad, whether to laugh or feel bad. But today, remembering those moments we smile and laugh to glory. He still reminds me and amusingly blames me for making him look like a fool on the stage. But those were the days, innocent and happy times, childhood devoid of any wit, pride and worries.
