With 2013 rapidly moving towards dusk and wrapping up its final folds to set soon, we have a new list of what Indians have been searching the web for - The most searched celebrities in India. A new survey conducted by an independent mobile video and media company drew out the top ten celebrity names. Read on to know who topped the list and who stayed out of it.
#1 Salman Khan
Bollywood's hottest Khan once again aced another list with his massive fan following and the curiosity that follows his life. Salman Khan, Bollywood's most wanted bachelor, is the most searched celebrity online in India. His style and appeal brought him right on top leaving behind other celebrities and eminent personalities.
#2 Katrina Kaif
This Bollywood beauty garnered heaps of media attention on the web and the social network with the release of her Ibiza trip photos with rumoured beau and fellow Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor. Pictures of her in a hot white and red bikini holidaying on the beaches of Spain with Ranbir Kapoor went viral online.
#3 Sachin Tendulkar
The Indian Cricket god has secured the third position in the most searched hit list. Tendulkar has been awarded with the Padma Vibhushan, India's second highest civilian award, and the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, India's highest sporting honor. Tendulkar is the first sports person and the first one without aviation background to be awarded the honorary rank of Group Captain by the Indian Air Force.
#4 Ranbir Kapoor
Heralded as the superstar of today's generation, Ranbir Kapoor has his fabulous collection of movies to thank. He has hit among the top of the most searched list with the trailer of his latest film Besharam that is becoming a hot watch.
#5 Kim Kardashian
Kim has maintained her popularity because of her reality TV shows, such as Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Kourtney and Kim Take New York.
#6 Anushka Sharma
Ms. Sharma has made sure to be hot news with everything she has been doing. Starting from shooting for Bombay Velvet, news of her nose surgery, launching a range of Canon cameras, hosting TOIFA and six brand endorsements.
#7 Priyamani
South Indian cinema actress, Priyamani, is a National Film Award winner for Best Actress for her role in the movie Paruthi Veeran. She successfully made it to this list becauce of her item number in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer, Chennai Express and her extremely hot avatar in Telugu film Chandee.
#8 Taylor Swift
American singer-songwriter, Taylor Swift, is a proud winner of 7 Grammy Awards, 12 Billboard Music Awards, 11 American Music Awards, 7 Country Music Association Awards and 6 Academy of Country Music Awards. She has a record of sales over 26 million albums and 75 million digital downloads worldwide. Swift is one of the highest paid under-30 Hollywood celebrities.
#9 Kajal Aggarwal
Aggarwal, is an actress who essentially appears in South Indian cinema. She, off late, won many awards for her movies Business Man and Thuppakki. She also appeared in Bollywood movies, Singham and Special 26.
#10 Nithya Menen
Actress and playback singer, Nithya Menen, who works in the South Indian film industry made headlines when she flew in the cockpit of an Air India Bangalore-Hyderabad flight. The two pilots of that aircraft have since then been expelled.
All these findings are gathered through Global Video Insights survey conducted by Vuclip. This list depicts the most searched results for the second quarter of 2013. Indians are searching for Indian as well as Hollywood celebrities. The list also includes regional actresses and a sports personality.
