Stay away from Fernandez b'coz the Medical treatment here is nothing but a 'Money making business'...
My wife is getting treated in this hospital since her conception, but for delivery, I must admit that I need to think twice before admitting her into it. Undoubtedly, doctors are quite good and I decided to choose this hospital after considering others such as Rainbow, Apollo etc as this seems to be the best hospital in hyderabad which prefers normal delivery. In spite, some doctors try to fetch business. If any patient tries to get help for any specific minor problem they are facing, some doctors do not miss the opportunity to scare the patient and make her to commit for the ultrasound scan or unnecessary tests which are not even required, otherwise. They always think that they might loose the patient to other hospital and try to ensure whether the patent is planning to get delivered in this hospital or not.
The biggest problem is in their scanning department. You will notice every problem regarding communication with the staff, coordination between themselves in providing exact timing for scan to the patients etc. Inspite the doctors mentioned that they are having 4 high level scan machines and sufficient radiologists, patients (even patients in advanced stage of pregnancy) are made to wait for at least 2 hours to get the scan done. I do not have any doubt on the radiologists, but seems the Hospital Management is not functioning properly to coordinate this scan department.
Secondly, and more importantly, it’s a place of money making business. Though it might be true for other corporate hospitals that especially target IT professionals to fetch as much of money they can to run their ‘business’. Yet, Fernandez sets an example for this, putting a different OP for IT professionals (the third floor is labeled as ‘green floor’ for IT professionals... Huhh... ). Most amusingly, whenever you will go for booking room for delivery, they will start telling story on un-availability of cheaper rate rooms (in the range of Rs. 900- 1350 /- per day) and make you commit to book the deluxe (Rs. 2800 per day), super-delux (Rs. 3295 per day) rooms or suits (Rs. 6600 per day). They will start advertising on how much facilities the patients will get if book these super-deluxe rooms and mainly the suits, as if, patients are going to own up the room to stay forever (!!!). They have also diplomatically kept more deluxe and super deluxe rooms than the cheaper rent normal rooms !!! Quite normally, all facilities are available in so-called ‘green floor’ which lacks in other floors especially ground floor whether you will not even see the water dispenser for out patients and visitors of the patients.
I think, this business is retaining so far because in the joy of having a child, people do not even care about what is wrong or right, and pay whatever they are being asked, thus browbeaten at the end of the day!!! THIS SHOULD NOT GO FOR LONG…
Overall, the hospital is good nothing else but only in terms having very good doctors and as it prefers normal delivery. In spite of being quite high about this hospital initially, I am not sure now whether to stick to this or shift my wife anywhere else for delivery.
