I - a very strong word.
I prefer my SPACE, SILENCE and MILD but STRONG, to the point CONVERSATIONS, mostly keep the doors of my room closed (here in Bangalore) : I cannot appreciate unwanted noises and I believe in showing respect to other's choices and giving them space because I want the same in return. I judge people by what their means of entertainment is : precisely : what music they listen to and what do they watch on television . Call me old fashioned/egocentric/fallacious....but down the line, "means of entertainment" defines who you are and reflects your thoughts, way of working and everything a human being can do in everything he/she does. Those who know me, also know that I HATE crowds to the core and hence the last place I want to be is a disco (more because of my disliking towards hip-hop.rap and shadi mix songs). Extreme case : I do not take my lunch during 12-2 in cafeteria because I prefer space and silence at least when I eat and needless to say how standardized are the table manners of people around in various offices.
Entertainment: A very substantive part of mundane. Those who donot make it a part or be a part of it will forever stand alone, outcast and pariah ! Everyone has a right to get him/herself entertained in the way they want : gossips, movies, jokes, bossing around, doing household chores.....blah-blah.............I walk to and from office everyday summing up to 7 kms and that very time is prodigiously mine which I prefer not to share with anyone, because that is MY TIME, MY WORLD ...eternity !
I cannot name them all right away and right now....but I walk with :rock and roll and heavy metal bands and every time I reach my destination (home/office), I wonder " Duhh !! I reached so fast?? "
I am the most charged up when I walk with them, with every step , I am the most creative , the best self critic, the best writer, singer, artist, the best of the best in everything I do or possess the ability to do.
I read a very meaningful and inspiring post lately in satyam blogs, about some Hyderabad lake observation, since then I have been watching this beautiful Hebbal Lake which I happen to cross twice a day when I walk. It is truly inspiring. Quoting and taking inspiration from the post I read, "Water and those waves teaches us : You are not the lord, everything that starts is suppose to end, like those waves which either end themselves submerging among other waves or hit the shore to end themselves, but they END ultimately, allowing other waves to rise. Every time a wave falls, it rises again somewhere sometime indicating the ups and downs with time." During early morning hours, the waves in that huge lake area are disturbed and fast as compared to the evening mild waves. The best part is the "coooool" waves coming from the lake end when I walk by its side for about 750 meters and that is the best part of my everyday walk. I swear , the only thought that crosses my mind, without fail, repeatedly ,every day when I am crossing the lake area is : I am going to play lead guitars in that forest like mid-island of this lake or some place like this...in this breeze with my long hair flowing smoothly ...someday....one day..when those metal fingers would rise and necks would break head banging for my band....and I’d not be behind the drums...but the lead guitarist cum vocalist...and then my thoughts run along with whatever song is ON , in my ears and I fast forward it to the lead part...and FEEL the lead with my fingers moving with it and eyes getting closed with Goosebumps all over !!
After the description of what entertainment means to me and how I do it, there's one fact ...MUSIC : ROCK n ROLL to me is LIFE and I cannot do without it , still I do not involve anyone else in it, it is a personal experience and I prefer to keep it PRIVATE even behind closed doors at my home with modest volume/headphones that does not disturb anyone else. This is purely my thinking and way of doing it, need not match anyone alive or dead.
