Okay, we have heard of love being the greatest thing that can happen to anyone. We all have watched movies, read romantic novels and have heard of love stories from many people around us. We have categorized love stories as divine, sacred, genuine, infatuation, crush, attraction and fake and at times have also been indifferent to its feelings by just ignoring it. We have even experienced the phenomenon (or at least assumed to have). We have felt, thought, spoken, written, talked and even questioned its existence. We have expressed it through various relationships - father/daughter, mother/son, brother/sister, student/teacher, love amongst relatives, friends, lovers, partners, colleagues and have also spoken highly of love for humanity and to various other things, concepts, goals, subjects, ideologies etc etc. We have got cagey trying to explain its power and its mysterious ways. We have tried giving logical explanations to its relevance and its meaning. We have heard descriptions about love from thinkers, writers, philosophers, poets and also have heard about it from common people from all walks of life. Some have also scratched our heads and gone to the extent of linking it with other emotions including hatred. We have also thought of love and hate being two sides of the same coin and some have funnily described love and hate as two horns on the same goat. I think the only plain truth about love is its power to surprise us and hold us captive in its incomprehensible trance.
