“Well, “Arindam”, how are you now”, asked the Police Inspector. “Did anyone tried to kill you, as you are the son of a renowned businessman “Aritro Roychowdhury” of Hyderabad. Then entered the strict mother of Arindam, “Sonali RoyChowdhury” with Arindam’s Hyderabadi friend “Gopala”.
Sonali: - Good Morning, Inspector. Any issues with my child.
Inspector: - Not at all, Madam, we are just doing our formalities, as it is an accident case.
Sonali: - Ok, can you do me a favor. Can you just sold my son’s bike to someone. It will be a great help for me.
Arindam: - Inspector, you can go now. I am fine. There is no need to do any further enquiries. My mother has gone mad.
Sonali: - Wait, let me talk to your father, on my mobile.
Aritro: - Hello, Oh, Darling, what happened? I am in a meeting. Can you call me after sometime?
Sonali: - Listen, Dear, Your one and only son, was preparing to have a meeting with Yamraaj, just few minutes back. I just wanted to give you this information. You can carry on with your meeting, or else you can come to the hospital of our locality.
Aritro: - I will be reaching the hospital, within half an hour.
Sonali: - Actually, it is your father’s fault. I warned him many times, not to gift you a 2-wheeler on your birthday. But, he gifted you that, and in return, you are giving us pain, by doing accidents.
Arindam: - Uff, Gopala, make my mother understand, yaar. Tell me Gopala, was it my fault. That car broke the signal and hit me. What can I do? The traffic of Hyderabad is just disgusting. They are always in a hurry, and always ready to break the signal. The Traffic police are so nice and quiet to them, that really I wonder who recruited them as traffic police.
Gopala: - Yes, aunty, it is very much true. I am a local Hyderabadi. I know it very well. Every week, at least there are 50 accidents in Hyderabad. That is why, Satyam Computers was bound to take an initiative to create “EMRI” and its “108 Ambulance service”, otherwise, we don’t know, how many people would have died due to road accidents in Hyderabad.
Sonali: - Do we have any solution, to control this huge traffic of Hyderabad?
Arindam: - There are 2 ways, to tackle this problem. First one is the construction of Metro Railways, across the city. The second one is, just charge fines to those vehicle owners, who break the signal.
Gopala: - My dear friend, in Hyderabad, all the buses are under the AP government. When they break the traffic rule, even our CM will also not charge a fine on them. These bus drivers are also a culprit, but you cannot take any action on them, as they are the government employees. And, in the other case, people are given the driving license, without even checking their driving skills. There are many people driving their private cars, with hardly having good driving skills. But, they have got the driving license, by giving money. So, they don’t even bother to kill someone in the road, with their cars.
Sonali: - Wait, tomorrow, I will write a column in my “Times of India” newspaper, regarding“Hyderabad Traffic”.
