I am writing this post on how to block ads. Now you might wonder why would I do this.
I am sure you too would have got frustrated with a ad from zestbreaks.com doing round.(especially on any travel reviews of MS). I got a taste of it today when reading OTEE's review
An intro on the ad, it shows an office executive bungee jumping out of the the window, he does it twice and when he does it, he lets out a very loud blood curdling scream. The audio is recorded loud. This ad is of zestbreaks.com(a mahindra company what can you expect from a company that does not care for its consumers this is just another example of how much they care for our privacy and silence)
This ad has just broken all rules of internet advertising etiquette.
These creators of this ad are living in a bygone era. It was years ago when an ad with "forced" audio would be an "attention puller".
Now you do not see such ads because it is simply annoying and disturbing.
Earlier we never relied on Audio and always had our speakers off.
Today we have audio email alerts, sound alerts for chat and messenger applications. Also when we convert video or write a cd we depend on the audio alert to tell us when the job is finished.
So we keep our speakers on 24/7.
Such ads can really be very disturbing.
All those who access MS from work just shut your speakers or else the entire office will know you are browsing the internet :-P.
MS seems to playing this ad like crazy especially on all travel review pages.
So I wrote a review on zestbreaks and decided to teach these guys a lesson.
If they think they are smart by disturbing our silence I will teach them back. I decided to write a guide on how to block ads. Will help you block ads from all website.
Hmm MS won't be happy, cause every free site like this depends on ads, but then you should have chosen your ads better, sorry.
My neighbours came running up two days ago listening to this blood curdling scream from my rooms. My speakers were really loud cause I was listening to an online video which had very low audio.
Then yesterday my servant got a heart attack she was working in the other room and these two screams went off. I expect her to come running to the front room, but I do not see her for around 10 minutes, I could not even hear her working inside.
After some time I see her slowly peeping. She thought something happened to me and I am lying on the floor. The funniest part is that she too was trying to hear for some sound of me typing or something and that only scared her more.
You can just imagine what she must have been going through, put yourself in her shoes what would you do if you had a dead body on your hands.
So lets get down to business.
If you want to block ads on firefox this is the best extention you can get.

For Internet explorer this is one cool tool not only blocks ads but aslo adds some create features to IE making it as cool as firefox. Best of all its free

after installing this just right click on the icon in your right hand side of your status bar and select preferences.
There in the modules simply enable adblock and you are ready to go.
This kind of "taking the consumer for granted" behaviour can only be expected from a company like mahindra. No respect for our silence.
