Horrible day yesterday 24 July

Yesterday at 9:30 over the Masjid Moth flyover, while my hubby was driving me to work, suddenly my car was jammed to a halt, but due to so much of traffic on the flyover, there was less gaps between cars. Our poor santro hit the back of a zen. Before we could even realise what happened, we got a big bang from back, pushing us forward into the zen, and the zen onto a ford, and the ford into ambassordor.

Ofcourse the Ambassador, was totally unharmed, he jammed brakes because the guy in front of him did, in total, we were 6 cars on a pile up.

Luckily, we come out unhurt, but the car behind our car, had a couple and the lady was pregnant, she got a couple of bruises, also she was pretty shaken up.

All the car owners were arguing with eachother, as to whoes fault it was, in the reality it was just a coincident, normally on a flyover, most people take it lightly and go at a higher speed than normal, and suddenly if you see a car ahead of you stopped, you then to jam brakes without thinking about the guy whose speeding behind you.

The continuous arguing in the middle of the flyover, and as a result more traffic jam, we all tried calling the cops, but for some reason the mobile phone rarely works in the time of need, especially the 100 number.

Due to traffic congestion, a police van drove up, but only to clear us out of the way, all 6 cars were asked to drive down the flyover and sort out the problem, we all drove and continued with the arguement, awaiting the cops to arrive, but they did not in 20 minutes, since the ambassador car was a govt car he drove off. After seeing on car move on the other guy said he was running late already and he moved on too. Just leaving us, to hang around, the lady who was pregnant, they did not even come down the flyover, no idea where they all dissappeared.

I was sitting in the car, trying my insurance number, which I had recently renewed through TATA , can you imagine, they give you a toll free number which is like 1-800...this does not work through your mobile. Only through a MTNL landline.

Funny, does anyone carry an MTNL phone on the move.

Ponder over this.....we are still trying to sort out the insurance thing....
