Its the “Festival of Lights” today
Its again the day of Diwali,
Its time to dress up folks
Its time to adorn the thali

Its the occasion to throng the temples,
Pray to the Gods and give them offerings,
Its an opportunity to entreat the deities,
To bless us all and rid us of sufferings.

Its the day to light the diyas,
Ignite the rockets and burst crackers,
But its also the time to be safe,
From the fireworks and all the sparklers.

Its the season to pay a visit,
To all our friends and relations,
To hand them over sweets and presents,
Diwali is our splendid chance.
……
But while u spend a time of joy,
Don not think it is merriment aall the way,
Out there w8 many of those,
For whom it is no time 2b gay.

Denied of laughter & smiles 4days,
They know not what its 2enjoy,
Can u not share something you have,
Can u not bring them a little joy?

When u can make someone else smile
When u can be someone’s aally
That’s when u can yourself be glad
