In this world everyone have the freedom to live like king. This thing tried by the people on June 29 2008 in three Indian cities in the largest display of gay pride in the deeply conservative country where homosexual acts are illegal. It is the co-oridinated effort of gays, lesbians and transvestites.

These Gay rights supporters took to the streets of Calcutta, Bangalore and New Delhi to call for an end to discrimination and push for acceptance in a society where intolerance is widespread. They are wearing colourful costumes and holding ply cards demanding gay rights, people walked singing and dancing.

In delhi , this was happn first time and the members of these groups took out a march which culminated with a candle light vigil at Jantar Mantar (New Delhi).

According to the law of our country, consensual homosexual sex act is illegal and is punishable by imprisonment but everyone has the right to stage a march for their demands. So activists, who started their 'walk' from Connaught Place (New Delhi), demanded repeal of section 377 of the Indian Penal Code which terms alternative sexuality a crime. The June 29 march is an annual event across the globe to mark the 1969 riots in New York when police arrested hundreds of gays from a pub. The riots had continued for five days.

Activists supporting alternative sex observe the week leading to June 29 as Rainbow Pride Week. Rainbow flag is a symbol of alternative sexual groups the world over.
