Summer was over, season was changing and so was my life! Goosebumps ran all over as I thought about the feeling of a new venture. I was eager to stay and explore a new place which I had never ever seen or heard much about. Kolkata – The city of Joy :-)
What was so unique about this place, probably the Puchkas, the Mishti Doi or Bhapa Elish. Or probably it was the new career my dear hubby was stepping in to.
I would Love to Love this place... somehow as other cities this city too has its own pluses and minuses.. surviving the humidity here is a challenge in itself, awe, I cannot forget the skin infections I went through in the first summer! Phew... that was irritating :-(
Not to forget the untimely bandhs and the 6 day Vacation during Durga Pooja, am still not able to figure out how does the economy here grow. At the same time hats off to the people here who celebrate Durga Pooja with great Love and Affection. The streets full of energy.. simply unforgettable.
Well, as I said every city also has its share of plus points, amar Kolkata too has some :-) I was lucky to stay in Salt Lake which is amazingly full of greenery, fresh air and quite a few places to chill out. My stay in Kolkata has been a refreshing break from the city chaos which my system was used to for more than 25 years.
On a personal level I like this place a lot coz it has given a new dimension to my life! Am taking back some bitter some sweet memories... some good some bad experiences. As I refresh those memories, It’s time to pack bags and leave for a new beginning :-)
