Diana Penty made an impressive debut with Cocktail. But she disappeared and is back after 4 years with Happy Bhag Jayegi. The film is produced by Eros International and Aanand L Rai(who made Tanu Weds Manu Returns) and directed by Mudassar Aziz, who made a not-so-great-debut with Dulha Mil Gaya. But with this film, he seems to be in control and have done a good job. The plot is damn interesting: A compulsive runaway bride lands in a soup when she runs from one of her planned marriages and reaches Pakistan accidentally. Jimmy Sheirgill, Ali Fazal and Abhay Deol are the men who Happy meets at various junctures in her life. Pakistani actress Momal Sheikh makes her Bollywood debut as Abhay Deol?s fiancé.
The songs have made no impact but the quirky trailer has managed to make a mark. This is a low budget film and there?s Rustom and Mohenjo Daro in theatres still. Yet, it?ll get a decent release. Opening won?t be big but even if it?s average or even below average, it won?t be a problem especially if the response is positive. A bad response will lead to the film?s debacle.

MOHENJO DARO LOSES THE CLASH BATTLE BUT?
The verdict of the Mohenjo Daro-Rustom clash is out. Rustom has emerged a clear winner. The costs of the film were reasonable and there was a lot of excitement for the film. The response of the people is very positive. The film grew very nicely and took a nice advantage of the Independence Day holiday on Monday. There?s a holiday today as well(Raksha Bandhan) and this can add to the collections. Despite the clash and lesser number of screens, it will have the highest first week for an Akshay Kumar starrer. And if all goes well, it can emerge as the biggest hit of Akshay Kumar.
Mohenjo Daro on the other hand faced a tough time due to various reasons. Firstly, the excitement for the film was just not there. Even without competition from Rustom, it would have had a tough time. Secondly, the costs were too high. So, despite decent collections, the film will be a flop. The reason I am calling it decent is because with the lack of excitement and bad response, Mohenjo Daro could have crashed on Day 2. And this would have been disastrous considering that Day 1 collections were not at all great. But that didn?t happen. It grew on Saturday and then on Sunday. Even Monday collections were nice and managed to cross 40 crore in 4 days. But the film dropped after that. It?s difficult to say if the lifetime collections will cross even 60 crore. For a moderately-budgeted film, this would have been still okay. But Mohenjo Daro is a big budget film. The losses are going to be huge.
