BAJRANGI BHIAJAAN – SALMAN KHAN’S BIGGEST HIT?
The first event film of 2015 is here – Bajrangi Bhaijaan! As expected, the hype for the film is tremendous. What’s special is that it’s not just another Salman Khan film. The film boasts of an emotional quotient that has been lapped up by not only Salman Khan fans but also those who complain that Salman is not doing anything new. Yes, the action bit is there in the film but at the same time, Salman as Pavan is also seen in a more realistic set up and he looks great in this space. The kid actor, Harshaali Malhotra, looks extremely cute and her moments with Salman Khan will be to watch out for, it seems. The film also features Kareena Kapoor and Nawazuddin Siddiqui and both look quite impressive, in the promos and songs at least.
What’s important to note is that Bajrangi Bhaijaan looks like a complete family entertainer. Salman’s previous films were a bit more massy, that might not appeal to all family audiences. However, that’s not the case with this film. Along with action, the film focuses on humour, emotions, love etc. And like Piku and Tanu Weds Manu Returns have proved, films aimed at family audiences can work big, big time at the box office if everything goes right. Hence, Bajrangi Bhaijaan has all chances of becoming Salman Khan’s biggest commercial hit!
What can go against the film is the bad word of mouth, like it happened in Jai Ho. Also, Baahubali is a hit in the South but a section of trade feels that it won’t pose a problem for Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan looks great from the promos and here’s hoping that it meets all the expectations and presents Salman Khan in a new light!
