WILL ENTERTAINMENT ENTERTAIN AUDIENCES?
Sajid-Farhad has carved a niche for themselves thanks to their awesome, witty dialogues that have taken many films to a different level. Now they have turned directors and their first film Entertainment is all set to release tomorrow. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Tamannaah Bhatia, Mithun Chakraborty, Sonu Sood, Prakash Raj and Johny Lever. However, the ‘leading actor’ of the film besides Akshay is a dog called Entertainment! How Entertainment becomes the owner of a rich property while the supposedly rightful heir Akshay is left with nothing forms the crux of the film.
The trailer met with mixed response, but many have liked it, especially the dog angle in the film. Also, it’s a new concept as there have been very few films in Bollywood where an animal has played an important part in the narrative. What’s more, such films have worked big time. Moreover, the dog in Entertainment is really cute and would be loved by kids and animals lovers alike. Songs are catchy but haven’t rocked the chartbusters. But dialogues, written by Sajid-Farhad themselves, are terrific and would greatly add to the fun quotient in the film.
With Kick done with most of its business, Entertainment can have a dream run in its first week at least, before Singham Returns hits theatres next week. Sadly, it also faces competition from the Hollywood biggie Guardians Of The Galaxy. Yet, Entertainment can excel and sustain, if the reports are positive. Entertainment looks like one-of-its-kind comic caper and here’s hoping it succeeds in entertaining!
