WILL 2013 END WITH A ‘DHOOM’?
One of the most significant films of 2013, Dhoom 3, is all set to hit theatres tomorrow and the excitement for it is everywhere. The film is being very smartly promoted which is definitely praiseworthy. For starters, they have revealed only 30-second teasers of the songs as opposed to 2-minute promos of songs unveiled nowadays by others which tend to give away most of the film. The dialogue promos too are kept short and to-the-point. Hence, viewers going for Dhoom 3 won’t know much about the film and will be in for a surprise at a lot of junctures and this would really prove advantageous. Many felt that this move would backfire as songs aren’t that good. Thankfully, the move worked as despite songs being disappointing, the ‘Dhoom’ brand carries a lot of weightage. Moreover, Aamir Khan is a force to reckon with and his films always attract maximum audiences. Also, Katrina Kaif features in the film and her romance with Aamir would be worth a watch.
Hence, it’s no wonder that the film embarked on a historic advance opening. The film will open to earth-shattering response despite tomorrow not being a holiday. The collections will be even better on Saturday and Sunday. If the film finds acceptance, it’ll easily turn out to be the biggest blockbuster ever and crossing the 250-crore-mark would be cakewalk. This is also because there’s a mid-week holiday in the form of Christmas on Wednesday. Also, audiences would already be in a festive mood from Tuesday evening onwards and the film can score in this period as well. However, if film gets rejected, then it can prove detrimental to its collections.
Here’s hoping Dhoom 3 meets all the humongous expectations associated with it and that 2013 ends on a high, or in other words, with a ‘Dhoom’!
