Dubai Visit Tips

By: varun1402 | Posted Mar 02, 2018 | General | 77 Views

Hi Guys,

I went to Dubai this February and it was a wonderful experience. The biggest factor of this wonderful experience was weather.

My overall trip cost was around 1.2 lacs for 2 person. We did last minute bookings and so having the entire trip in this much budget is quite an achievement.

Let me tell you about some highlights of my trip -

Duration - 7 Days/8 nights

We landed in Sharjah on 21st Feb 2018 and our return flight was on 28th Feb 2018. We did our Visa arrangement beforehand via Musafir.com. The cost of Visa was around Rs6000/person.

As a regular traveller I prefer to roam around the city and spend most of my money in travelling and visiting places in a new city. So as you can see from my viewpoint, I didn't stayed in a lavish aparth2111ment or a hotel. We booked a 2 star hotel in Sharjah named - Crystal Plaza Hotel. This hotel was very nice and the breakfast was awesome. Mostly Russian and Indian public stay in this hotel so you will get both Indian and Continental dishes in the breakfast menu. This hotel also offered free daily shuttle service to Dubai. Distance between Dubai and Sharjah can be covered in 15-20 mins. The shuttle offered by hotel used to go to either Diera City Centre or to Dubai Mall,

But for day 1 we tried our own way of communication which was a little expensive i.e. Taxi. We did this so that we could check the distance and key areas on day 1. From day 2 onwards, we took help of Google Maps and Google to look for bus routes/ numbers and metro stations for key areas. Dubai/Sharjah don't have provision of bus/metro tickets. They have pass system which needs to be taken from key bus stations or Metro stations. You will need to put money in this card and then use it on buses and metro stations.

Key places that I visited were -

  • Burj Khalifa(at the top) - Booked using Groupon

  • Dubai Fountain Show

  • Dubai Mall

  • Mall of Emirates

  • Ibn Batuta Mall

  • Dubai Museum

  • Dubai Temple & Gurudwara

  • Dubai Dolphinarium - Booked using Groupon

  • Desert Safari with Barbeque Dinner - Booked using Headout

  • Miracle Garden - Cash @ counter

Global Village - Best thing I visited. It requires a whole day to enjoy it. It is open 6 months in an year and opens at around 3 pm. - Cash @ Counter.

  • Palm Jumeirah - Metro+ Tram

  • Burj Al Arab

Guys I know about the useful bus numbers and easy/ convenient way of reaching Miracle garden or Global Village. If you don't find that in google, do ping me here and I'll be happy to help.

Enjoy travelling!
