I guess, this is such a largely discussed topic... A realm where most of us have pondered and jinxed! They say - 'the strength of a poet is in his pain'!
Don't wake me up; let me dream...
wriggling in pain, I want to scream!
For my dreams are sweeter than reality beholds
I will die but when the truth unfolds!
I fell in battle like a warrior lost
u wiped me off like a drop of frost.
I dream of you like u've never gone,
not a trumphet wakes me nor a honking horn.
I can still feel when I first touched you,
on a dusky evening you shyly said - 'love you'
With every move and every dance,
we got more closer not by chance
Those twinkling eyes and a cheerful glance,
was like paradise and love in France
Ur hugs n kisses and letters of promises,
those long strolls in unexplored premises.
Those late night shows and candle-lit dinners,
in ice-cream parlors wearing pyjamas n slippers
Those outdoor visits and overnight stays,
our wine parties with music full-on base.
Standing on hill-tops watching the sun go down,
with birds fluttering and skies crimson brown.
You closed your eyes and I made you mine,
our souls entwined and we felt so fine!
Soaked in sweat as I lie on the bed,
with your sweetest dreams and the things you said.
Though foolish it is and funny it may seem,
Don't wake me up, JUST lemme dream! lemme dream! lemme dream!
I somehow can't get over my love for the '!' (exclamation) and the '...' marks.
Reasons - the '!' mark can be associated and made to represent a spectrum of emotions and the '...' marks can be used to fill in anything that 'YOU' like!
