Does the word courtesy have a meaning?

Had been to Spencer's last week. While I was standing in the queue waiting for the person before me to complete his biling, a girl standing next week started giving orders.

I politely informed her that she was in queue and was standing next to me. Bang came the reply " Am I billing? I am just giving the orders". This girl would be less than 20 and two ppl who accompanied her [ one was old and the another similar to the girl] doesn't seem to bother. Where are we going?

Doesn't that girl know the manners? I felt bad.

Or am I doing something wrong here?

Let me know.
