2nd Post of Dr.Subhendu’s blog

Last week, I visited the village as my father was not well due to some viral fever. There, my mother asked me about our future family planning. I said nothing at it, as really we have not planned anything. But, yes, after one year of marriage, if you don’t have a new member in your family, then I am very much aware of this society of Indian villages, they just start whispering about it. Anyway, they are also not wrong. It is not that I don’t want to become a father. I had discussed regarding this matter with Roopali. But, she always gave more preference to her career. Ok, it is not bad that, we are both doctors, we both are careerist in nature, but sometimes I feel that it is hampering our personal relation also. Nowadays, we even have some ego clashes also regarding our profession. I literally got shocked when Roopali told me that within the next two years, she does not want to become a mother. Now, this is really ridiculous. But, still let me try to make her understand again. I hope that she will agree to it.

Arindam:- This is really bad. That is why; I don’t like a careerist woman.

Kavita: -What happened to you? Why are you shouting suddenly, while reading blogs in that laptop? If you don’t like careerist woman, then why are you investing money on your little girl Neela for her education? Then, when she will grow up, you will say that you don’t like your girl because she has become a careerist.

Arindam: -No boss, I am not saying that. A girl doing a job and having a careerist mind, which is ok; but your first priority should be your family. Why are you earning money? Is it only for you? No, it is for the financial security of your family members. You need to see smile on their face, which is why you are earning.

Kavita: -Oho, don’t be so emotional, babah. You remember that we also faced this kind of situation. After giving birth to Neela, I was in two minds, whether to leave my job or continue.

Arindam:- But, you always gave your family the first priority. I never told you to leave your job. You decided on it. Later, I helped you to become an entrepreneur to open up your own dancing school and fashion boutique shop and today you are a successful business woman. I am proud about you because you maintained the balance between your personal and professional life. You planned well about when to take what decision. Maybe, that is why, our married life is a successful one.

Kavita: -Hmm… it’s ok. But, is it that the married life of Dr.Subhendu is in trouble? Please read the next post.

3rd Post of Dr. Subhendu’s blog

My wife gave me good news today. She is now fond of eating those pickles, and why not? It is the indication that our little guest will be coming to this world very soon. She made me fool. Actually, she had her own plans, when to have a baby, but played the drama with me that she doesn’t want a baby for 2 years. Even gods fail to understand a woman; I am just an ordinary human being. Already, Dr. Malabika is doing her regular check-ups. She has also booked a bed at the Calcutta Medical Hospital Maternity Ward and has prescribed a date, when Roopali needs to be admitted. My mother is staying here at my Kolkata residence. After all a woman can care another woman in this regard. I am just a useless fellow in these cases. But, this Pinaki always disturbs Roopali. He knows her condition, but still he will call her to perform those emergency operations. I requested Roopali to take more rest. But, it is also true that as a good doctor, your mind never wants to ignore any helpless patient.
