Draught Beer.




Maintaining, Storing and Serving draught beer is not simple.


The usage of barrel or keg for draught beer can be traced back to second world war.


Storage:


Barrel /Kegs to be stored in controlled temperature, ideally in cellar or in a dry,cool and clean room. Barrel must always be kept indoors under cover and never be left in sunlight and it need to be stored in between 7 and 12 degrees Celsius. Lager beer can be stored much more cooled temperature if required.


Common problems:


Raise in temperature above 12 degrees can result fobbing or foaming of the beer which will result beer going flat also this will reduce the shelf-live of the beer causing haziness and off flavors. Storage of beet below 7 degree Celsius also is hazardous resulting over carbonation and lack of foam. Low  temperature also may turn the beer freezing and cause irreparable damage to the barrel
