I want to share the experience of getting cheated ...during my daily route of driving in car from vikhroli towards navi mumbai....
While I was back from office to home... on Ghatkopar mankhurd road going towards vashi... I realised few men standing on the divider making some gesture towards my car engine and shouting fire fire..."gaadi mein aag hai"... I ignored and went ahead...again few metres ahead....1more personmade the same gesture and comment... and third time when 1 more person said the same...it made me scared thinking the car has really caught the fire.... I stopped on side and the same person came saying that the car engine was on fire...they asked me to open the bonnet... and called a mechanic... the mechanic told the starter is not ok and needs to be replaced... I agreed thinking that in such circumstances they are helpful... they asked me for 5k for making the same ok... I gave the money after driving towards the ATM... after reaching home next day I got it checked with authorised service centre... he told me that the equipment costs hardly 300rs. He told me that in that area there had been such incidences earlier also... this is a a group of ppl who work as a team are involved in this racket and dupe car drivers... if you do not have much knowledge about car engines then sure shot you will fall for it....
they create situation where you find yourself helpless... in my case also... they made me sit in the car and told me to raise the engine...n knowingly pulled off the plug of the starter...so car was not starting and sparks were visible... you tend to believe the car indeed was on fire...
few days back a person someone I know also faced the same thing and this time at Ghatkopar signal to eastern express highway road....
