Caution for VGUARD Room Heater buyers

By: premgy | Posted Aug 27, 2013 | General | 3009 Views

When I was to purchase a room heater (Feb-2013), in the showroom I was happy to see a v-guard product though it was costing almost double (2200/-) as that of other brands like VOX. Having brough it home, the unit was not operating (cut-off function) as per the manual. It ramins on adn I was afraid to keep it on for the entire night. Next day I called up cust care, in a week's time technician came to pick it, after 2 weeks I was given a replacement piece. Again the cut off function was not working as per the manual. Then the technician told me that it works that way and the cut off happens internally, not visible to the user. Though it's contrdicting to the statement in users manual I started using it. Now the real problem starts- The fan in this unit starts making noise after using for few hours and gradually fails over a week's usage. On a fine day when you switch on the heater the fan doesn't start and the heater cercuit blows up. Everytime the the technician turns up in a week's time and a new piece is given after a month! Hence in 6 months I got 5 units replaced, each of which served me for an average of 1 week! Obviously the 5th one also failed as of Aug-2013. Though I have warranty till february-2014, I am really hesitant to call them up and repeat the story, unless someone from vguard looks in to this post and offer a cashback. I end up forfeiting 2200/- for the product of a 'reputed' brand! Ironchandru021y my colleague who purchased ORPAT room heater @ 2 for 1999/- is happily using it! I knew vguard as a great brand, but with this experience I'm forced to believe they've seriously gone down on the quality, may be for rest of the products as well. I'm happy if this note serves as a caution for those buying vguard products.
