Art of telling 'No'

By: Nikhil_001 | Posted Oct 17, 2008 | Management | 639 Views

Be it a first job or a new one or in everyday life, we come across situations and circumstances wherein telling ‘No’, we presume to be fatal and often end-up telling too many ‘Yes’.

In my first job, my colleagues laughed at my inability to say no – and my boss just loved me for that matter. Every task that was dished out at me was done, that required me to stretch more than normal limits. Very predictably, success followed but also landed me in some terrible situations. My boss then ingrained in me the art of telling ‘No’ which later proved to be very important career skill, which I realized when I started managing projects.
