E-Commerce is growing at a tremendous rate. In the year 2007-08 the total ecommerce volume was Rs.9200 Cr which includes railways and flights ticketing, e-tailing,etc. But still it is a very small part of the total retail business in India.
Why??
Because people still feel insecure transacting online. We have to provide our personal and confidential information like credit card details, name, address, etc to the online portals.
I once used my credit card to make an online purchase. And to my shock my bill that month came 3 times the card usage. when I saw the transactions, I found out that there were many fraud transactions. Apparently somebody used my card details.
After that I have been very afraid to transact online.
Is there a way to make online transactions totally safe, secure and private??
