Apply in Government Sector !!!

By: ArindamSain | Posted May 05, 2009 | General | 767 Views

Arindam:- Hi Suresh, what happened to your interview at IDBI Bank, for the post of “Assistant Manager”? Are you selected or not? If you are not selected after giving the interview, then don’t worry, it is always better luck next time?

Suresh: -No, boss, I was literally harassed today. We applied for the post where in the advertisement, it was written that 1 year experience from the Banks, Financial Institution, and etc. will be preferred.

Meghna: -Now, that “etc.” word has played the trick with us. The Chairman of the Head Office branch of IDBI Bank is now saying that, the word “etc.” means the similar company like the Banks or financial Institution. I really doubt, whether they know the meaning of “etc.” or not. It means anything. If they want people to apply from the Banks and Financial Institutions, then why they have not published in the advertisement thatonlypeople from that background will be preferred, rather than using the word “etc.”

Arindam: -Look, for applying for a Government job, you have to pay some money, to get registered for the written test. If they would have written there, the word “only” instead of “etc.”, then maybe less number of people would have applied for the post. If 10,000 people have applied by assuming the word “etc.” in their favor, then the word “only” could have fetched only 3000 candidates applying for the post. Net result, they would have incurred an opportunity loss of (10,000 – 3,000) * 300 = 2, 1 00, 000 bucks. Why should they do that?

Suresh:- Then, why have they called us for the interview? Before sitting in the exam, we provided them all the information and photocopies of our certificates regarding our experience and company name. They could have blocked us, before the written exam only. But, after we have cleared the written exam, they harassed us, by saying that you are not from a Bank or financial institution. You are working for an IT company, so, we cannot consider you for the interview, despite you have MBA Finance degree as well as the call letter of IDBI.

Baneerjee: -I think, the IDBI Bank has been privatized. But their people still have that bad culture. Don’t worry Suresh and Meghna, each and every Government offices are like that. They will harass you at every point of recruitment. Like in the case of “Shipping Corporation of India”, they literally harassed me, after I cleared the written test. They said that, my MBA degree from ICFAI University is not valid, as it does not have the AICTE approval. Do those crap people of Government sector know the essence of AICTE approval? It is only required for a technical college. Even XLRI, IIMs do not have that. I don’t know how people get recruited in the Government sector?

Arindam: -Ha ha ha … it is a very nice question to ask. If you belong to the caste of Dr. Ambedkar, then you are always welcome for government jobs, no matter, how much a crap you are? Otherwise, if you are from a General category, just get lost man….We are the government employee, we have our own quota, we will push our son, daughter or our own relatives by bribing the top HR management.

Meghna: -That is why, there is so much corruption and under-the –table black money for Indian government employees.

Suresh:- Boss, at least in private companies, these kinds of nonsense does not happen.

Arindam:- This is nice suggestion to you all. Better you keep your money in the PPF account, but don’t waste money on these government job applications.

Suresh:- I take a vow. I will never“APPLY IN GOVERNMENT SECTOR”.
