Today is the birthday of Thomas D (@tom3357). While wishing him a happy birthday and a long life with good health, I share this fact with my MSian friends that he is the man on MS I adore. I came to know of him when he commented on my review of Khamoshi in February 2010. I found that he himself did not write much those days. The fact is, he had not written any DP till the Original DP Contest announced by MS in September 2010. And when he did write, his very first DP won the prize in the first week of the contest (the contest spanned for six weeks).
He writes from heart. He does not write anything fictional. He only shares his experiences, viewpoints derived from them, the lessons taught to him by the life and above all, the things related to humanity. The biggest trait of Tom sir's personality is his human approach towards all the things and that's something I adore. I have been planning to meet him since last year (both of us live in Hyderabad) but due to this reason or that, the meeting has not been able to take place till now. However through telephonic talks as well as the interaction on the platform of MS has enabled me to know him closely.
He has been troubled by the prolonged and acute sickness of his better-half. Yet, his nonvolatile faith in the Almighty and the virtues has always stood by him and through it he has sailed through all the pains and the problems including the one mentioned above.
With his complete personality soaked in humanity, I always find him on the same wavelength as myself is. Despite the age difference between us, I always feel comfortable while talking to him or sharing views with him. What's left in this world if humanity and kindness are not put a premium upon ? Nothing. The human-race is surviving not because of the physical and the earthly progress made but because of the humanity surviving in us despite all the vices surrounding us. And Tom sir is an icon of humanity. Other than Angel Babe (@angel_babe), he is the MSian whose each and every post underscores one thing with prominence - humanity.
I wish him a very happy birthday. May the Almighty incessantly bestow good health, happiness and peace of mind upon him.
