Amaron Batteries

I purchased a high end Amaron for Diesel SUV on February 15th from their authorised dealer in Bangalore on 15th Feb 2014. It conked out a few weeks ago. I registered a complaint with their helpline(complaint no 107687). No one responded. The battery came with a four year warranty. They also boasted of a 24x7 service. After much cajoling, they came around and told me that I have mishandled the battery and have wilfully damaged it so they cannot replace it and the warranty was null and void. They also took away the warranty card in the pretext of checking with their system. How can I mishandle a battery? Why should I? The car does not have a scratch on it. It only shows that the company Amara Raja Batteries does not want to honour the warranty terms. I strongly request readers not to buy Amaron unless they are thorough about the bonafides. These guys are thieves and cheats. I then gave the battery to a shop which has since repaired the battery. Of course there is no warranty but the shop tells me that they will service it for a nominal fee if I bring it to them once every 6 months and it may last for another couple of years if I am lucky. They are also Amaron dealers and off the record they admit that the warranty given by Amaraja Raja is a scam and if I give the service engineer some money he will replace it with a new battery. So much for Amaron and Amara Raja.
