I have seen many films in my life and the desire to make one myself often crossed my mind. Of course that isn’t possible until I complete a filmmaking course or spent years assisting an established director. But till that happens I can at least make a short film on a small scale just to get some first-hand experience. I realized this few years back but didn’t give it much thought. But since last year, I was seriously toying with this idea. I saw many short films on the net made by many amateur filmmakers and understood the technique. However, I realized that for my first film, I need to have as less characters and as less locations as possible so that it isn’t much hectic. Also it would be great if all locations are indoors! Coming up with a script which matches with my criteria was indeed very difficult. Nothing came to my mind.
It was in October when me and my friend Padmanabh suddenly came up with a short film story and later we decided that come what may, I am definitely gonna turning this into a film! Alas, by the time realization dawned, my exams were coming up! Koi nahi, I thought, I can make it after my exams! And 11 days after exams ended, I found myself calling shots for my first ever film!
The entire experience has been a learning and satisfying experience! Writing the scriptwas a tad lonely but very enjoyable process! My friends gave me wholehearted support to fulfill my dream! Thanks a lot Aabhaas, Shantanu, Bharadwaj, Parth, Gautam…this wouldn’t had been possible without you guys! Getting the actors wasn’t difficult and I was surprised that people trust me so much. All agreed to be a part of it immediately with no hesitations! The film has 5 actors in all and guess what, 2 of them are MSians! One is the cool Dinesh Acharya (ms id: Dinzaach82) who came all the way from Pune just to be a part of my debut venture! The other is Naireen (madame_bindass) who had never met me before and still came early on a Sunday morning while I had informed about the shoot just a day befor…11 ½ hrs before the shoot to be precise! Coincidentally, it’s her birthday today as well!
The lead actor of the film is Padmanabh (also the writer) who also had some commitments but still made it for the shoot! He’s a fabulous one-take actor and brilliant mimic. He charmed one and all with his talent! Hardik, my cousin and Gautam were the rest of the actors in the film!
