A letter to Lord Ganesh:

Dear God,

Most of the time I just join my hands in front of you and pray in my mind and ask a wish for come true. This might be the first time that I am writing a letter mentioning of things what I wanted to share or ask from you. You might be thinking what makes me do that. Well, there are many other things which I forget about to pray or to ask for or to confess for but this time I wanted to make sure that I don't miss any of it.

This letter is not just to make a wish or to complain about things but also for your expectations from us (The ones which believes & have faith in you).

The first thing I would like to bring it up is, As Ganesh Chaturthi being a community affair, we find people going from door to door to collect money for this festival. This money is uesed for making idols, pandal and expenses of the priest and daily puja. We all know that. But I would like to know if I can give only Rs. 50/- to these pandals rather than the demanding Rs. 150/-. And my donation whatsoever it is can be accepted happily rather than not at all accepting by this Ganesh Pandal keepers?

The second thing is that (With all due respect), As Tilak encouraged this festival community participation and involvement in the form of performances of plays, musical concers, and folk dances whose whole purpose was to be meeting ground for people of all the caste & communities in times. I would like to ask you if its that ok if we play songs like "Lungi Dance, Laila leri lelegi tu likhke le, Sheila Ki..." within the pandals itself?

Third thing I would like to say is playing music with loud speakers outside a pandal is not a big deal anymore but is that ok to play it afternoon when a 2 month child is trying to get his sleep for a while and a tired housewife or a mother is trying to get a small nap?

The last but not the least, I would like to ask for if thats ok for us to have hard drinks like Whiskey, Vodka, Beer etc during the visarjan? I believe visarjan is something we should be sad for and making a wish that we want you to be back in our home next year again. Well, that being said that we are sad, can we have Whiskey, beer and dance like anything on the streets with the songs like "Lungi Dance, Laila leri lelegi tu likhke le..." and make a contribution to make our city a bit dirty by puking on the streets?

Do let me know your thoughts!

Yours Truely!
