A CHILD IN US ALWAYS REMAINS

By: edollsgomes | Posted Nov 14, 2008 | General | 383 Views

Hey Folks,

I wish to share this with you today.. being childrens day..

Few of us along with our kids went shopping to Globus, and as we were going through the clothes lined up, I came across a mannequin that had a short wig.. I went up to it , removed the wig and wore it tying my hair behind.. then went and stood quietly next to one of my friend.. she was shocked for her life to see me with that wig (u too will be seeing the attached pic.. ha ha) .... I posed in front of the mirror, we took pictures and what not with that wig.. I paraded as if walking on the ramp in front of my friends and kids.. not at all bothered of whose around or who else is watching me.. I was just being me.. we all laughed as if we never laughed before.. one of my friend fell on her knees holding her tummy as she laughed watching me do all the sho shaas n nautanki…

My lil fella was watching me from a distance, when I called out to him he came to me but only to say “your looking funny and this hair is not nice”… both the kids were taken aback as to what their mothers were upto.. even the staff at Globus didn’t bother to stop us nor they asked us to keep the wig back.. they too were laughing later at my act.. some other shoppers present there laughed n smiled too… we really had a hearty time..

Few days later when I showed the pic to my mom and told her wat all I did at Globus.. she too laughed, but ended saying “when will you grow, u have a son now” .. hmm very important question.. though I didn’t reply ma.. but I knew the answer.. I wont ever grow ! It’s the age that grows, not the heart or the mind or our senses..

This morning when I wished my lil fella “Happy Childrens Day” he didn’t wish me back.. wen I asked him to do so he said “ ur big na” .. no I’m not, Im still my ma/baba’s child.. they still give me birthday gifts, n shout at me like how I shout at you.. the smile he gave me after this was a million dollar one.. as if he understood all that I told him … So folks.. lets be children always.. innocent but yet able to understand and judge better than adults can…

Lastly - 10 Child Commandments For Us To Understand Our Children Better…

  1. My hands are small; please don't expect perfection whenever I make a bed, draw a picture or throw a ball. My legs are short; please slow down so that I can keep up with you.

  2. My eyes have not seen the world as yours have; please let me explore safely. Don't restrict me unnecessarily.

  3. Housework will always be there. I'm only little for a short time, please take time to explain things to me about this wonderful world and do so willingly.

  4. My feelings are tender; please be sensitive to my needs. Don't nag me all day long. ( You wouldn't want to be nagged for your inquisitiveness). Treat me as you would like to be treated.

  5. I am a special gift from God; please treasure me as God intended you to do, holding me accountable for my actions, giving me guidelines to live by and disciplining me in a loving manner.

  6. I need your encouragement to grow. Please go easy on the criticism; remember, you can criticize the things I do without criticizing me.

  7. Please give me the freedom to make decisions concerning myself. Permit me to fail, so that I can learn from my mistakes. Then someday I'll be prepared to make the kinds of decisions that life requires of me.

  8. Please don't do things over for me. Somehow that makes me feel that my efforts didn't quite measure up to your expectations. I know it's hard, but please don't try to compare me to my brother or sister.

  9. Please don't be afraid to leave for a weekend together. Kids need vacations from parents, just as parents need vacations from kids. Besides, it's a great way to show us kids that your marriage is very special.

  10. Please teach me about God regularly, setting a good example for me to follow. I enjoy learning more about God.

Cheers N A Very Happy Children’s Day..

Let the child in us Live Forever...
