'COME ON NOW..ITS A FREAKIN NEW ACCOUNT, WHAT DO YOU THINK THEY WILL DO? JUST LISTEN TO YOUR WORDS? IF THE CHECK IS NOT GOOD THATS A LOSS FOR THE BANK-DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU PASS JUDGEMENT AND READ THE DISCLOSURES ONLINE. THE HOLD IS LISTED ON THE WEBSITE. NOT THE BANKS FAULT PROTECTING YOU A...ND THEMSELVES' Well, I would assume you were yelling at me the entire time due to the fact you typed your whole post/response in CAPS. So there's integrity shrink number one. Secondly, It sounds like you work for WaMu. I understand banks have to protect themselves and blah, blah, blah. However, the hold period that they placed on payroll checks I deposited in person I considered unreasonable. I would wait anywhere from 11-14 days on average. I was finally able to get them to release the hold after arguing with one of the managers for at least an hour. This was my money that I earned and I expected it to be available for me to use. A checking account is not a savings account. Sure maybe there was some fine print somewhere that I missed, and all banks put holds on checks, but not for 11-14 days!! I've since switched to Chase and my very first deposit was only held for a day and a half. Other checks have posted in one day or immediately depending on how I've deposited them, being ATM or direct. So this proves my point. If you have another checking account you can use, then sure open a WaMu account, wait a month, and use it. But if you have no other accounts don't do it, and please, PLEASE read my entire post before responding, thanks.Read More

After the transaction was completed the teller said “Thank you, have a nice day” and handed me my rece...Read more
