my brother also has a fiesta (diesel) which sometime back was creating some trouble with the steering wheel making a rattling noise. He had gone in for the extended warranty and the whole steering column was replaced immediately. It prompted me to go for the extended warranty as well. harpreet surak...sha somehow sounded like a scam to me. With the extended warranty I have the vehicle covered for 4 years (2 yrs of regular warranty). What you said about the Ford parts being pricey is absolutely true, but the fiesta has never given such trouble to really pinch. I'd be crossing my fingers that nothing serious really happens.
