Let me begin by saying that I dont want to belittle others who have written about this album but fact remains that all other reviews (except a few) speak more about Himesh and not the album. Hey Raj, That was quite a review you had on 'Himees Bhai' but sadly your review was downright judgemental. Let me take an example. You have definetly heard Bruce Springsteen sing. Get the sense? He sings and at the onset he sounds like a donkey croaking (no offense meant, I am a great music lover... and am fond of greats like Springsteen) but he does have a sound or for that matter Ozzy probably one of the the greatest Rock Stars.Similarly Himees Bhai has a tone, Mukesh had one too if you compare him with Rafi. Get the sense? Now coming to Himees Bhai, give the dude some credit for some music he makes. He is experimental, and sings 'coz he likes it and surprisingly his music sells. He is not the greatest singer around alright but no doubt he has some talent. I guess we here in India are very authoritative and opinionated about certain things and can easily blast anybody or anything as if we hold the baton. If you did not like the music, say so, but I personally feel you dont have the right to make a passing comment (like a boy who is yet to grow up) and make it sound overtly critical!! There is a difference between VIEWS and REVIEWS. I think the debut album is a good attempt. Obviously all songs can not be just right. But sure it has some good moments. With time it will get relegated into oblivion no doubt as it is a fast paced album with songs sounding almost the same (sung by the same guy eh:-) ). It is a good buy for a while like all albums are these day when it comes to Indi-Pop. RaveRead More
