Congratulations on your new purchase. However, think this post shouldn't be here as this section is dedicated to Swift VDi (or LDi). Anyways, welcome to the Swift family and happy motoring!!

Hmm...there seems to be a concerted effort to show MUL cars in poor light. Saw another bad review on a Dzire. Think the Hyundai (or GM??) guys must be working overtime to plant these rubbish reviews. As a proud Swift owner (although diesel), I must assure people who read these reviews that there is ...no truth in what Mr.Hari_mouthshut writes. Hope MS figures out a way to control these kind of reviews.....Read More

Hi Deepak, Congratulations on booking the VDi. I'm sure you've made the right choice and will enjoy your ride. Some thoughts on the accessories: 1. IMHO you need an upgrade of your tires, cos the stock tires suck. You can go for 185/70/R14 or 195/65/R14 as upgrades. 2. Music system - I got a P...ioneer 5090UB with B/W for about Rs.10000 around 4 months ago. It meets all your requirements. Also, JBL speakers are pretty good. At the rear, you can install a parcel tray and then mount speakers on it, or if luggage space is a concern, you can use the provision in the door. 3. Seat covers - at that budget, you can get Art leather seat covers, but discretion is advised, as art leather seat covers tend to get hot and uncomfortable in summer. 4. Mats, perfumes - these should be part of the 'freebies' that the dealer offers. You can get a 3M underbody coating for around Rs.3000. Sun films - there's a wide range from around Rs.700 - 7000, pick something that is within your budget and offers scratch resistance. Hope this helps....good luck with the car!Read More

@palace35mm - I'm on 14' wheels with 195/65 profile tires. Guess there's a shortage of tires in this size; the other alternative being 195/60/R15.

Just came back from Chikmagalur and thought I'll post some experiences. First of all, the Swift DDIS is a beast on the highway, and it was a pleasure driving it. The speedo touched 140 kmph a couple of times and I had to slow down, as my wife started freaking out! Even at that speed, it fe...Read more

You can opt for either 14' or 15' alloys. You'll have to ensure you get the right tire size though. The recommended upsizes are: 14': 185/70 (the one on the ZXI) or 195/65 15': 195/60 (this is the recommended upsize for a Swift) I would suggest you stay away from going beyond 195 size. The fuel e...fficiency may come down marginally with 195 tires, but is negligible. As far as alloy brands, you can go with League, Plati or Lenso (may be more expensive than the others). Hope this helps! Read More

Hi..pretty interesting review. Was wondering how long you had to wait for your car to be delivered. Some thoughts on your questions... 1. You should definitely write to Maruti about the paint problem, which is totally unacceptable. 2. You probably can get the idling reduced at a Maruti service st...ation (not sure if this is possible on the newer CRD engines though) 3. Check if the airflow is set to recycle...this is the arrow pointing backwards 4 and 5. Can't help with these...!! 6. Could be the fitting of the hatch or also the speaker plank, if you have one installed. Cheers and do let us know how your car is doing after 5000-6000 Km. Read More

Yes, it definitely increases fuel efficiency. This is of course if you continue with the same tires. If you upgrade to wider tires, then it sort of evens out or may lead to a slight dip in fuel efficiency. Maintaining the right air pressure is also critical in obtaining optimum fuel efficiency.

Thanks for the feedback. My car is usually parked outside as I don't have a covered parking area. The rubber tends to harden faster and hence, I've needed to change the wiper blades once every year
