http://naacindia.org/ Point -1: Doing MCA program also gets you a job. The PP or whatever you call them is not the only way people get jobs. I never used NIIT PP because I was doing the course at that time and applied for job through advertisement from the paper. Point-2: Speaking of Trai...ners, whether trained or not, you need years of experience and some professional practice before you can teach someone the concepts. Usually its up to the students to go beyond the course ware which is usually a copy of some other original books. So neither NIIT nor MCA trainers may or may not have the drive or ability to teach. You are lucky if you get a good one. That is true for most other non-it related subjects. Point-3: Studying general concepts of computer science is not obsolete that are taught in MCA programs. You can easily apply these concepts to any current technology you can think of database, new languages like .net etc. What you learn now may have changed a bit after 5-10 years and thats true for any profession and thats true for NIIT also (I learned LOTUS and dBASE in NIIT but no one uses it now) Even if you join MS computer science in reputed american universities (which is much sought after) what you learn is concepts of computer science which generally apply to any current subjects you are learning. Point4: Please refer to http://naacindia.org/. Please refer to National Assessment and Accreditation Council of India website. In this website, you have a list of universities and colleges that are accredited. If your institution is in this then what ever course you studied is also recognized by the body that is evaluating you in a foreign country or company. Its not a surprise NIIT is not in this list and I don’t think it will ever be because NIIT is not a university its just an certification institute (which is motivated by profit). You will be lucky whatever you learn in NIIT is recognized by other institutions you are trying to get in to.Read More

I am not here to complain about NIIT. But in my experience please do join a MCA program instead of a GNIIT. Number one reason. This is most important. MCA program affliated to an indian university is recognized all over the world. NIIT programs are not. It can be a supplement ONLY. Usually...Read more
