@Are you able to start and move your bike with pillion on up-hill road after a stop in the middle of the road? Yes! @Bike is moving very slow with pillion rider in 1 gear in heavy traffic. Do you ever faced this ? Slow/speed is comparative. I can go upto 15kmph in 1st and 25kmph in 2nd (th...ese are extremes normal 1st gear 0-10kmph and 2nd 10-20kmph).Read More

Hi Bharath I haven't felt so bad with my bike in slow moving traffic or up-hills. Poor pick-up and jerks may be because of improper tuning (there is a fuel screw near the engine to supply fuel/air mixture to the engine) or carburetor problem. And problem with gear shifting, I didn't came across... this and I have no idea.Read More

Hi Bharath I am ordinary biker, I don kno mechanical details of bike in depth. But i can suggest u based on my experience. First of all your bike is under running-in period, this period will decide ur bike’s future, so never strain the bike. Follow these suggestions: 1)Never rev the bike... over 5000 rpm.You may have to shift the gears very frequently between 2 & 3 to achive this. More over bike is having toe shift which u may feel discomfortable at this time. But u will appreciate it later on. Gladi’s engine is different from conventioanl commuters like shine, splendor etc which own a good low end torque(normally called PICKUP). But these bikes will vibrate heavily @ 50-80 kmph and will die after 80kmph. You may feel little discomforatble with gladi in slow moving traffic (little more discomfortable with a pillion back) but the bike is vibe free (especially @ 60-70 kmph). 2)Never cross 50kmph speed limit (I kno very difficult...) 3)In the morning never rev the bike heavily, put the choke on and leave the engine to heat up for couple of minutes. 4)Avoid double riding (if possible) 5)Never go for a long ride 6)Don’t insist serveice guy to tune the engine for mileage at this point of time(lean mixture will hurt the engine) TREAT YOUR BIKE AS A CHILD IN RUN-IN PERIOD (around 3000kms for this bike) Your bike’s mileage figure is impressive!!! (It should not return that much mileage now;-)) Dont worry about mileage, bcoz this is not Bajaj’s mileage bike, which returns heavy mileage in the begining and breaks later on. Engine jerks and low pick: may b becoz of lean petrol mixture(I think engine is tuned for mileage) or carburetor needs cleaning. Gear problem: Strange!!! I never came across this problem. Yamaha gear box’s qulity is top notch, It will not give false neutrals. I have to click twice sometimes only to shift between 1&2. I think this is really a problem. Discuss with service guy & fix it immediately. YES YAMAHARead More
